20 weeks flew by! Before I knew it, we were already halfway there! So I guess that means it’s time for a pregnancy update 🙂
With so many things going on (toddler, husband, household, full time job, blogging, etc) this pregnancy is really just flying by.
My first pregnancy was so different because I had so much more time. I would read every weekly update, had a million apps on my phone, worried about every little thing, and even checked the baby’s heart rate every day. This pregnancy I haven’t done any of that.
It’s actually a relief because it sucks to feel like the pregnancy is just dragging.
Just today I was thinking about how our new baby will be here before we know it and I don’t know how I’ll ever get everything done before then. Luckily we don’t need much since he will be getting a lot of my sons hand-me-downs. But I’ll still want to decorate the nursery, and that means also decorating my sons room since he will need new furniture (his crib and stuff is going to the new baby).
Anyway, since I haven’t had much time to think about the pregnancy, I’d say I feel pretty damn good at this point.
I do have awful pelvic and back pain because I still carry my 17 month old a lot, and he’s 32 lbs. My doctor warned me this would happen, though, since I’m not supposed to lift over 20 lbs. But what can you do? My boy still needs me. So I’ve just been sucking up the pelvic and back pain while teaching my son to do more things on his own.
I also finally caved in and bought maternity clothes since the bump kind of grew out of nowhere and nothing was fitting me. I was able to get away with it this long because I work from home and basically live in my pajamas. But now that Chicago has finally warmed up, we have lots of events to attend and I needed clothes.
Summer dresses are definitely my favorite because they’re flattering, comfortable, light weight, and easy to put on. But I’m definitely self conscious because I had to stop working out and feel pretty big, especially in my arms.
That being said, I finally got the clear to workout again so I will slowly be getting back in to a routine to hopefully control weight gain from here on out.
Oh, and I finally found a prenatal vitamin that I am satisfied with and it’s the First Response Prenatal Gummy. They taste good and aren’t horse pills.
Overall, everything is going smooth and I’m feeling great. 🙂
