I have very sensitive skin, so my skin doesn’t agree with most drug store face washes. I break out or get dry patches every time I try them. Which then makes my makeup look awful… and we can’t have that!
A lot of those products just strip your skin of the natural oils it needs and then when you stop using their products your skin sucks and you have to start buying them again. And that, my friends, is how they make their money.
Anyway, on top of my sensitive skin, I also wear makeup about 5 times out of the week and exercise 5-6 days of the week. When I work out, my face is always drenched in sweat and that causes exercise induced acne if you don’t have a good routine down.
I have had a lot of products recommended to me when I bring this issue up. However, I’m not trying to spend that kind of money on glamglow and whatever else is popular now. Major pass for me.
Also, I want to take care of my body in every aspect. I’m not just going to eat well, workout, and then treat my skin like shit.
So, I finally found a routine that is all natural and works AMAZINGLY! Bonus: It’s super cheap!
- If you need to remove makeup, do it with a makeup eraser. It’s a towel that you wet, wring out and then just wipe your face with it. H2O is literally the only chemical going on your face. It’s awesome. And it cleans better than other products I’ve used. It’s $20, but it lasts up to 1,000 washes- that’s 2.5 years. That means it pays for itself in just two or three months of you not having to buy a facial cleanser.
- Then I put a rose petal witch hazel toner on a cotton ball and get it all over my face. This stuff is great for keeping your skin clear and clean. You can literally feel the cleanliness of your face after using this. A 12oz ($13) bottle lasts me about 8 months or more because you only need very little.
- Once the toner has dried up, I put a little bit of coconut oil on my face as a moisturizer. I give it a few minutes to soak in and then rinse any residue off with plain water. I buy the huge 2 pack of coconut oil at Costco for $20. This lasts me forever, plus you can use it for a million things.
- Once a week I also do a natural face mask with Aztec healing clay and apple cider vinegar. It’s so weird but you can feel this mask working and pulling while it’s on. And once you take it off, your skin feels like heaven. I moisturize with a very little bit of coconut oil after this as well.
So I pay $20 for the makeup eraser every 2.5 years, $13 for toner every 8 months, $5 for cotton balls every 3 months, $20 for coconut oil every year, $8 for a huge thing of apple cider vinegar every 8 months, and $11 for the aztec clay every 10 months. That’s $77, but let’s break it down monthly.
All of these items break down to less than $2 monthly! The monthly breakdown is $7.70/month for all of this! Plus the coconut oil and apple cider vinegar get used for much more than just my face so that would make it even cheaper.
When you compare this to a face cleansing routine that requires drug or beauty store products, this is way cheaper and much better for your skin.
So give it a try and let me know how it works for you!!
