A few days ago I posted about how I use my planner to track my fitness, but that’s when I’m not pregnant. When I’m pregnant, things slow down a bit and I change it up.
For one, I no longer keep track of how many calories I’m burning because I’m not in weight loss mode.
I don’t take measurements because that just doesn’t matter to me while pregnant. Not to mention your body really changes from day to day when you are pregnant because of bloating, water retention, etc.
I’m also not as strict about my portions, so you’ll see that is completely gone. I just make sure I’m eating healthy overall and getting what my body needs.
So, when I’m pregnant my fitness tracking looks like this:
On the left, instead of measurements, I keep my weekly goals. Then at the end of the week I look back and check off what I actually did.
In the vertical columns I keep track of exercise, food, and takeaways.
Exercise:
At around 6-7 weeks I had some bleeding and because I’ve had 3 miscarriages, I decided to really slow things down as far as exercise goes. I went from working out 5-6x a week to not working out at all for a few weeks. Now that I’m cleared to exercise again, I’m slowly getting back in the swing of things and aiming for 4 workouts a week for now. On my rest days, I do some foam rolling and other stretches.
In this column, I also write down notes about how I felt. I just like to be able to go back and look at this and see if there are any patterns or things I need to change up.
Food:
I still like to keep track of what I’m eating because it is SO easy to give in to cravings and eat like crap while pregnant. I allow myself to give in to 3 cravings a week and keep everything else clean.
Eating healthy while pregnant is not only great for the baby, but will also help you keep weight gain where it should be.
Takeaways:
I use this box to track my water intake (I aim for 10 cups a day), and to write little notes/takeaways. The notes are usually about something I’ve noticed I need to do or want to change.
Then the bottom section really is just random. I write down little notes like things I need to prep for or want to try, but don’t exactly fit in any of the boxes.
My last pregnancy I didn’t track anything at all, so this is helping me stay on track and making sure I don’t go crazy like last time.
What are some things you track during your pregnancy?
